I thought it was over, baby
We said our goodbyes
But I can't go a day
Without your face
Going through my mind

In fact, not a single minute
Passes without you in it
Your voice, your touch
Memories of your love
Are with me all of the time

Let me let go, baby
Let me let go
If this is for the best
Why are you still in my heart
Are you still in my soul
Let me let go

I'm back beacuse there're some things in my mind i wanna pen down. Things that I've recently experienced which are just so valuable that I want to remember.

MLP has been such a blessing. I've had chance to work with some fantastic group mates from the UK and to volunteer at this awesome place, both of which I've enjoyed every minute of.

Vounteering at the Mustard Tree has undoubtedly been one of the most enriching experience I've had in my Uni life. Not only has it brought me closer to God, but it has also opened my eyes to so much of the world that I've been ignorant to.

I've talked face to face with a reformed drug and alcohol addict, who lost his parents and home in a house fire, and subsequently his brother, girlfriend and 2 children. My heart went out to him as he described his life and how he became suicidal, went in and out of prison, how he lived on the streets. I've come to understand why the homeless spend all their money on alcohol instead of food, and it reminded me how judgemental people are (myself included) as we've been showing no mercy to these homeless people thinking how we've been berating them for not looking for a job even though they're so abled, yet how they still continue spending their every last cent on alcohol etc. It's only when you acually get down to talk to them to see things in their perspective then only will you truly understand their choices. A hug and a good luck wish was all I could offer at that time. For the record, he's now doing paintings to sell in fundraising campaigns, conducting art classes at the Mustard Tree, an unexpectedly good ping pong player and to quote him: "the happiest person in the world".

As I sat at the reception looking at all those people who walked into Mustard Tree, I can't help but feel a tinge of sadness for each and everyone of them. Some came in shivering from the outside cold asking for a blanket and sleeping bag, some came in to buy a coat which cost 1 pound, some came in looking for a mattress without a bed because that's all they could afford, some came in looking for furniture in hope of finding one to add in their bare house, some came in just to look around and stare longingly at that fridge they know they can never have. It just made me feel so fortunate and also made me realise how I've been taking so many things in my life for granted. Even the littlest things like as you fill in a form and you reach the address portion, automatically the same few similar words come to mind. Have you ever thought of what if one day, as you fill in the form, when it comes to the address line, nothing comes into mind? What if one day, all you can write in that line is: Streets, homeless. It's really through experiences like this when you realise how sheltered you are from the real world.

Well, it most certainly has been a humbling experience and it has definitely changed a part of me. I will never see the homeless/asylum seekers/ex-offenders/drug addicts in the same light ever again. I've seen what they can become if they were given a chance, some help and lesser judgement from the harsh world we live in.

On another note, the volcano eruption in Iceland is causing quite some chaos here man. THANK GOD it didnt happen last week. I cant bear to think what will happen if we go stuck in Budapest. I feel so sorry for friends who are returning to the UK for school next week as the Easter holidays end today and are stranded. The most insane I've heard was a friend who was flying from Korea. 4 hours prior to landing, the pilot realised that he couldnt fly further due to the ashes, had to U-TURN and fly back to Korea -.- OMGGG. Another who was stuck in Munich had to resort to taking a 20 freaking hour bus ride to Manc. Others are just stuck in Spain, Prague, New Dehli, Singapore. /= Baddd timing when everyone is returing from the Easter holidays. Just pray that the ashes clear up sooonnn!!!

Have come to the conclusion that snow is only nice to look at and play with and build snowman. Other than that, snow just SUCKS.

I'm actually inwardly kinda glad i stayed back this winter to experience this. you will NEVER EVER see this happening in Singapore. Singapore is just too safe and... standard if u get what i mean. Nothing ever gets out of the ordinary. Such that every small little thing gets blown out of proportion. If you get what i mean.

Consequence of the snow:

Airports closed. Schools closed. Offices closed. Unversity closed. Shops closed. Food runs out. Empty shelves in supermarkets. Blocked roads. Dirty roads. Iced-up roads. Crawling traffic. Traffic congestion. Increased car accidents. Car breakdowns. Pain to go out. Dangerous to walk outside due to slippery floor. Football matches postponed. Train services cut down. Gas supplies run out cause more people are staying in. The police will only answer to calls if a crime is taking place or a life is threatened (ie only when u're dying will the police come for you). And the list goes on.

There. Now you see what snow can do. Sigh. when it snows in the UK, everything just falls apart.

Am glad my fridge and freezer is stocked up. I've got everything I need here. that's also thanks to the new chinese supermarket that just opened downstairs!!!! omg quadrangle has just become the TOP accommodation i swear. there's nothing more i can ask for (except maybe a macs downstairs? hehehe)

exams in 2 weeks. hope i dont die. these 4 papers will constitute 25% (ie ONE QUARTER) of my entire degree marks. last year was 25% as well, so by the end of this sem, half my degree marks will be set and that's DAMN SCARY.

Pray for me!!! and it's time to go back to the books.

The past 7 weeks have been tough. I think Dicky is the only person who can totally relate to this. I'm just glad the end is nearing. I'm so excited about going back that I have my clothes all packed into my luggage! Hahahaa.

Jy, we've surviveddddd. Heh.

I'm coming back to cuddle love!

YAY kickass fast internet now. Came with the price of 30 quid zzz. But all's worth it now that I can get to use skype (=

Ok so back from the highlands tour. It was quite an experience i must say, although half the time i was bored by the mountains and dying to lay my hands on a computer with webcam. Virgin hostel stay hahahhaa. But we had our own hostel room to ourselves with en-suite toilet so it wasnt like really hostel hostel, if u get what i mean. Learnt SO MUCH about Scotland. Still didnt try the haggis thou ahahaha. Learnt a couple of Gaelic words, visited the rivers Clyde, Tay (which is just facing my lab, stare out at it everyday) and forth, visited the Lochs lily (?), lochy, oich, and the famous ness (no nessie spotted thou lols), learnt so much about its history like the battles, the clan wars, went to several glens, visited several castle (in ruins due to battle) etc. So many! And the mystical, magical Isle of Skye. Basically we just spent 3 whole days going around the entire west highlands of Scotland. Went to see the bridge where Harry Potter was filmed, where the Hogwarts express crossed, had a peak at the Hogwarts express, went to the exact place where Braveheart was filmed. It's insane and pretty amazing at the same time.

Damn midgies (mosquitoes the size of sandflies but with the brains of a pit bull) kept attacking got quite a few bites grrr.

Going for a Ceilidh this Friday (pronounced as Kay-lay). Never been to one before! Should be interesting (=

Great, everyone must be out clubbing tonight in Manchester.

And im stuck in this shit dodgy student accommodation here in Dundee.

Geez. The feeling truly sucks. At least I have my parents here. I don't know if it's a good or bad thing. On one hand, I could do with the company. On the other, I know that they will be leaving in a few days which makes me feel sadder and shittier. And I havent exactly been in a very good mood the past few days with them, which i feel bad for.

The transition was like from heaven to earth. Weston is 100000 times better than the current accom, I am so not going to complain about Whitworth now. And give me Manchester any day over Dundee.

To be honest, dundee is not that bad a place. It's by the coast, with fantastic scenery. Bu it's nothing like Manc. The population is older here, the town is dead after 6pm, there's nothing else to do, I've only seen like ONE club?! Not that I would want to go clubbing. But it just goes to show how boring this place is.

I hope things start looking up when I start on my project. People in the lab are lovely. Declan is here! But he'll be going back to Sg tomorrow )= And i thank God for people like Dec, Julin and Joy, who make me feel more at home. Dec was the only familiar face when i came, since I've met him in A*Star previously when i was still working there. Lunched with Julin and Joy on my first day, learnt quite a bit from them about doing PhD. Lousia, my new flatmate from Italy, who's in another lab close to mine, has been awesome. She was the one who really lifted my spirits. She'll be gone in 3 weeks thou, and when she comes back i wont be here anymore )=

Going on a highlands tour to the Loch Ness and some other places with my parents from Friday to Sunday. Which means that i cant see the smelly till he returns to sg )= ohwells at least we wont have to limit on the calls from Friday. Cant say how much i miss you.
